Live your best ResLife | Accommodation support for first-year students

Living away from home for the first time, learning new life skills and making new friends, can feel like a daunting prospect. That’s why we’ve offer a ResLife programme.

In this blog – part of our ‘Living with Us’ series – we’ve focused on the network of support ResLife provides for our first-year students.

Find out how our programme builds a sense of community in our University-owned and managed partnership accommodation, so when you join us, you’ll feel like you belong.

Our ResLife teams

Based across our student villages at Kensington/Park and Park View, our ResLife teams work to make sure you get the support and guidance you need for a fantastic start to your University journey with us.

Each team is made up of a ResLife Co-ordinator and Student Assistants – students who have lived in our University accommodation and can draw on their own experiences to support you.  

Our teams also work closely with other University services such as our Student Health and Wellbeing teams.

Our ResLife programme

Reslife has been developed so it offers a great mix of support, advice and opportunities to help you settle in with us, make new friends and some amazing memories:

• ResHacks – from tips on budgeting, cooking, cleaning, living sustainably, cleaning and doing your laundry, to getting on with your flatmates and looking after yourself. Develop skills for life with our programme. ResHacks are delivered on our TikTok channel by our Student Assistants in the form of 'how to' videos.
  
• Fun social events – meet new people and make new friends. Take part in quiz and movie nights, arts and crafts workshops, pizza giveaways and much more.
• ReConnect – making sure support is available seven days a week, whether you need to discuss problems in your residence, or help finding out about the University’s support services.
