What is an Offer Holder Experience Day?
At Newcastle University, our undergraduate Offer Holder Experience Days are a bit like our Open Days, but more personalised to you and the subject you’ve applied for.
Organised by the academic school for your course, you’ll get a more in-depth look at what studying your subject – and university life with us – is really like.
In 2026, we’re running three Offer Holder Experience Days in February, March and April. Here are our top 7 reasons why you should sign up.
When you book for a Newcastle University Offer Holder Experience Day, you can sign up for subject activities linked to your course. These might include mini lectures, taster sessions, and chances to chat with lecturers and academics.

Every subject area runs things slightly differently, but you’ll come away with a much clearer idea of our teaching methods. You’ll also get to know some of the staff, helping you feel more confident when you join us.
Subject session activities go deeper than a normal Open Day. You’ll find out what you’ll be studying, how your course is structured, and what kind of work you’ll be doing.
You can ask any questions you might have and explore where you’ll be based. You’ll also find out about the five-star facilities at Newcastle that you’ll be using (QS Stars 2025).
Our experience days are a chance to meet other students who’ve got offers for your course – so, there’ll be some familiar faces when you join us.
Plus, at our experience days you can chat to current students and recent graduates who’ll tell you what it’s like to study your subject.
Our information fair is your one-stop shop if you’ve got a question for us. All the key support teams will be there so you can ask about:
We also run student life talks so you can explore different elements of student life at Newcastle.
At our Offer Holder Experience Days, you’ll get the chance to join a student-led campus tour or you can explore on your own.
Visit our library, Students’ Union, and sports facilities, and grab a coffee or bite to eat from a campus café, food stall, or restaurant. Start to imagine how you’ll spend your day on campus and find out how easy it is to get around.
Even if you’ve been to one of our Open Days, this visit will feel different as you focus on the buildings and spaces you’ll actually use. Getting your bearings will make you feel more confident on your first day, too.
Choosing where you’re going to live at university can feel like a big decision – after all, it’s basically your new home. But going on an accommodation tour makes it easier to picture yourself there.

Information about how to apply for accommodation is also regularly updated on our website. You can find out more about each of our residences and use our handy search filter to research the accommodation options that suit you.
