Admittedly, Tuesday is one of my busier days, so I will caveat by adding this isn't common for every day of the week during a postgraduate course.
I usually wake up at 7am to do a workout and pray, and then I'll start my day with tea and toast. During breakfast, I like to watch something on YouTube – either news or a motivational video to start the day off right. Ahead of my lectures, I like to spend some time jotting down a to-do list for the day while listening to music.
This usually takes me up to 11am, when I'll set off to the Business School for timetabled lectures. I live in private accommodation. I love the fact that it is just 5 minutes’ walk from the iconic Quayside, and less than 20 minutes away from my lectures. Fortunately, on my way to the campus there are plenty of shops, but I mostly stop at supermarkets such as Tesco and Poundland to stock up on any essentials as and when I need them.
At 11:20, I usually arrive at my lecture hall 10 minutes prior to my lecture to catch up with my friends.
From 11:30, I have three lectures in a row. All the lectures are roughly two hours, with a one-hour break from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. My friends and I tend to use this one hour to eat and chat about our assignments or the contents of the lectures.
My last lecture on a Tuesday is about Marketing Research. Although at this point, my energy levels are usually quite low, the professor of this module always finds a way to hold my focus!
Once the lecture is finished, I rush to the TEDx society weekly sessions that used to happen on alternate Tuesdays somewhere at the University’s main campus. Even after a full day of back-to-back lectures, I generally try to attend these sessions whenever possible as they're so informative and engaging.
After some time socialising, I'll return home to relax, cook dinner and maybe catch up on work. It's important to allocate time to unwind during postgraduate study, so I'll usually round off my day by watching a film before going to bed.
