Your Personal Tutor

 

Your Personal Tutor is a dedicated member of academic staff who’s here to support you throughout your university journey - both academically and personally. 

 

Keep an eye on the My Programmes tile in the Student Portal to find out who your Personal Tutor is. They’ll usually get in touch at the start of term, but you’re always welcome to reach out to them first. 

 

Whether you need advice on module choices, want to talk through your academic progress or are facing challenges that are impacting your studies, your Personal Tutor is your first point of contact. They’re here to listen, offer guidance, and help you make the most of your time at university.

Meet the Academic Skills Team!

 

The Academic Skills Team is here to help you develop the skills you need to succeed at Newcastle University. 

They can support you as you strengthen key skills such as reading critically, writing academically, managing your time, and much, much more!

 

Visit them to find out more and pick up some useful study freebies, including wall planners, pens and sticky notes.


The team will be in the Philip Robinson Library foyer on Tuesday 23 September and Thursday 25 September, 11:00 – 14:00.

Month of Hope

 

From 10 September to 10 October, Gateshead and Newcastle mark the Month of Hope — a suicide prevention initiative encouraging open conversations about mental health and emotional wellbeing. 

Through walks, webinars and community events, the campaign aims to reduce stigma and inspire hope. Whether you're struggling or supporting someone else, help is available.
