🤔 Concerned about your finances?

If you’re experiencing unexpected financial difficulties and unable to cover essential, day-to-day living costs, you may be able to apply for the University’s discretionary financial assistance.

"Thanks to the support I’ve received from the Student Financial Support Fund Award, I've been able to afford to live and eat because the student loan I was receiving only covered my rent.

It's helped with travel costs to university and affording a meal every day, which is the essentials really.

It’s meant that I’ve been able to focus on my studies rather than worry about financial stress.”

- Ella, previous recipient of the Student Financial Support Fund

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is urging young people in England to claim their Child Trust Fund savings.

Around 758,000 young people have not yet accessed the money in their account.

Child Trust Funds were set up for children born between 1 September 2002 and 2 January 2011, each with an initial government deposit of at least £250.

If you’re unsure where your account is, the quickest way to find it is through the Child Trust Fund locator tool.

👂 We listened: We have introduced the Upay app. It lets you pay for food and drink quickly and securely across all university cafés.

But it’s more than just a payment app — it gives you access to exclusive discounts, loyalty rewards and offers to help your budget go further.

Download the Upay app today for Apple or from Google Play. Use it to save money and get rewards whenever you eat or drink on campus.

💬 You said: "Didn’t like the additional charges for sauce portions."

👂 We listened: Following your feedback, we have now removed any additional charges for additional sauce portions at our campus cafés.
