💰 Student Financial Support team
Our Student Financial Support Team offers a wide range of support to help you make the most of your time at
university.
The team can provide advice, guidance and support about a range of student finance related matters such as student loan funding and managing your money.
If you’re experiencing unexpected financial difficulties and unable to cover essential, day-to-day living costs, you may be able to apply for the University’s discretionary financial assistance.
"Thanks to the support I’ve received from the Student Financial Support Fund Award, I've been able to afford to live and eat because the student loan I was receiving only covered my rent.
It's helped with travel costs to university and affording a meal every day, which is the essentials really.
It’s meant that I’ve been able to focus on my studies rather than worry about financial stress.”
- Ella, previous recipient of the Student Financial Support Fund

Each candidate has outlined their priorities and ambitions for representing students and enhancing the overall student experience, but the decision is yours.
There will also be an opportunity to meet candidates in person and hear directly from them at the Candidates’ Rally on Wednesday, 25 Feb 2026.
Voting opens on Tuesday, 3 March at 13:00. Student Elections provide students with an important opportunity to have a voice in decisions that shape student life and all students are encouraged to participate. Voting ensures that your voice is heard and makes a huge difference. Don't miss your chance!
Remember to make the most of your feedback from your Semester 1 assessments. Don’t just focus on your grades! Read the comments carefully, too.
Written feedback is very important. It gives us an opportunity to assess our own work more objectively, take charge of our skills development, and improve our future performance.
Which aspects of your work are already going well, and how can you build on these further? Which areas are you finding more difficult, and what do you need to improve?
Use these insights to plan how you’ll take control of your own skills development. There’s lots of support and guidance to help you. For example, you can:
