The Faculty PGR Development Programmes for HASS, SAgE and FMS provide training opportunities and academic and research support to all PGR students.
The programmes offer a ‘design-your-own’ approach via a mix-and-match platform that allows you to target the skills and knowledge you need.
Not only this, but they also present a chance to create networks with other PGR students across campus and avoid the dreaded PhD isolation.
The Library values the importance of training opportunities for PGR, offering sessions drawing on our expertise from our Liaison, Academic Skills and Library Research teams.
Our sessions offer flexibility, combining a mix of online and in-person sessions with self-guided Canvas courses.
Kick off your academic year in the right way by heading to the programme pages and browsing the rich range of training on offer.
Our programme of careers sessions for PGRs is designed to help you explore your options and build the skills and confidence to take your next step.
Sessions cover career planning, entrepreneurship, exploring careers beyond academia, labour market research, articulating your research skills, academic and industry CVs, UK workplace culture for researchers, LinkedIn and networking, and understanding your visa options.
Whether you're considering academia, industry, entrepreneurship, or simply want to understand your options, there's something for you!
