It's been a strange year for all of us, especially young people. As 2020 draws to a close, we thought we would take this chance to wish you all a restful and happy Winter Break.

However you're planning on spending the Winter Break, do use this time to rest and recharge ahead of the new year. We understand that for so many young people, 2020 has brought lots of uncertainty and stress. Making the most of your Winter Break

From having to communicate with friends and teachers through masks, to keeping your focus during online classes, there have been a lot of new - and unwelcome - elements to your learning this year. It's normal to feel tired, or experience feelings of low mood as a result of these changes.

Plenty of sleep, fresh air and - if you can - reducing your screen time are just a few ways you can really get the most out of the Winter Break. Though this festive season won't be like any of the ones before it, do still try your best to find normality where you can and be kind to yourself.

What we do for our students staying on campus during the Winter Break

Here at Newcastle University, we're doing all we can to make sure our campus is a safe, supportive space for those staying with us during the Winter Break. 

We offer peer-to-peer support, free CBT programmes and plenty of virtual events and activities to keep students busy and healthy. As well as this, students that sign up to our Winter Support Package can enjoy free sports memberships and access to our gym.
